Shade Trees

The perfect shade tree has a canopy that’s dense enough to block out some or all sunlight during the hottest part of the day, spreading enough to shade outdoor living spaces, whole yards, or – when grouped – parks and city streets. Tall enough to sit or stand under, shade trees can be evergreen or deciduous. These trees can have beautiful flowers, attract pollinators and beneficial insects, and can make great homes for birds. Deciduous trees provide shade in summer and allow sun in the cold months of year, when they go into dormany and drop their leaves.
